Rationale

Given the fantastic success of Gaia, which provided us breakthroughs in our vision of the Milky Way, its satellite galaxies, and its own stars, it is time to think of the next generation of astrometric missions. The goals of the workshop are to

1) identify a broad list of fundamental scientific questions of Exoplanetology, Astrophysics, Cosmology, and Particle Physics waiting for super-precision astrometry to achieve possible breakthroughs;

2) think about what type of telescope, instrument and observing strategy would be ideal to achieve sufficient astrometric precision to lead to such breakthroughs.

Talk duration

We wish this workshop to maximize the interactions and discussions. Hence the talk durations are set as follows:

  • Invited talks: 20 minutes + 10 minutes for questions
  • Contributed talks are 10 minutes + 5 minutes for questions

Please prepare a PDF version of your talk (even if your talk has videos) just in case the presentation software fails on our videoprojector.

Speakers at IAP should have the latest version of Zoom installed and mute Zoom on their laptops.

26 July, 2024. The number of registered people that will be present has now reached the room capacity. The registration is kept open for remote attendees. So please do not register unless you will attend remotely.
